Dr. Jacqueline Pierce is a Physiatrist – a Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She manages and treats patients who have chronic and complex Neurological, Neuromuscular, Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic conditions and diseases. She has a passion for working with patients living with disabilities related to Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury, Spinal Cord injury and Neuromuscular Disease.
Before becoming a Medical Doctor, Dr. Pierce worked as a Physiotherapist. Her practice is grounded in both practical and theoretic expertise in the rehabilitation of Neurological and Neuromuscular injuries and disorders. She treats individuals holistically by drawing upon her knowledge of how body systems work together to produce specific symptoms.
This unique skill set, combined with her caring and approachable manner, make her an excellent referral choice for patients dealing with chronic and complex issues. Her goal is to improve quality of life for those who are living with long-term disabilities and to empower them to be active participants in the management of their condition.
Dr. Pierce has a dynamic and growing practice.
She currently practices at Victoria General Hospital at the in-patient Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, the out-patient Neurological Rehabilitation Clinic and holds a weekly Electromyography (EMG) Clinic where she completes Nerve Conduction Testing. She holds Spasticity Clinics at Queen Alexandra Hospital, the MS Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital and travels to Long-Term-Care facilities to assist those unable to travel to clinic days.
Dr. Pierce holds bi-weekly Clinics at Neuromotion for patients needing assessment and treatment of Neurological, Neuromuscular and Musculoskeletal Injuries and Conditions, Spasticity and Pain. Here, she is part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and an Orthotist.
