   Nicole earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is a registrant in good standing with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHPBC) and is certified by Speech-Language Audiology Canada (SAC). Since 2017 Nicole has been practicing in a wide variety of clinical settings, including acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and community. Most recently Nicole worked at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, where she honed her clinical experience working with adults with acquired neurogenic injury (e.g. stroke, traumatic brain injury, anoxic brain injury) and neurodegenerative conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Primary Progressive Aphasia). Nicole recently became certified for LSVT LOUD, a Parkinson's specific program. 

Nicole is passionate about professional and educational development and consistently strives to meet the highest standards of clinical practice. Nicole is a clinical instructor at UBC where she supports speech-language pathology students in their endeavour to develop clinical and professional skills necessary for clinical practice. Nicole has supported research in swallowing (dysphagia) and is a published author of a systematic review with respect to dysphagia research.  Nicole’s approach to therapy is rooted in her empathy towards every client and their family members. She is passionate about supporting her clients with their communication and swallowing goals. She recognizes the utmost significance communication and swallowing plays on her clients’ life participation and prioritizes her clients’ needs accordingly.

Nicole enjoys working with her clients’ family members, providing education and support to empower them with strategies to communicate with their loved ones. She firmly believes that therapy should to the highest extent possible fit the needs of daily life, be practical, and rewarding. Nicole enjoys the collaborative process in her role and celebrates her clients’ unique abilities and goals.
