Her studies included functional anatomy, exercise physiology, human biomechanics, neuroanatomy, neuropsychology,  nutrition and much more. During this time Leanne’s passion grew for the use of exercise as rehabilitation from physical and neurological injuries. She is a firm believer that the “Exercise is Medicine” approach is powerful and effective for many of the health conditions people face today.

Leanne has volunteered extensively with the local non-profit organization, MOVE Adapted Fitness & Rehabilitation Society, and deems the experience to be rich and educational. Leanne has trained at the Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery PWR!Gym in Tuscon, Arizona, and has been certified as a PWR!Moves Instructor.  She currently teaches a PWR! group cardio and skill-challenging exercise class here at Neuromotion on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Leanne has also completed a course on safe and effective use of the RT300 functional electrical stimulation (FES) bike.

Leanne is passionate to inspire and coach people on their journey to maintain and gain new functional abilities. She has a special interest in using the modality of dance as an exercise rehabilitation tool.  Leanne continues to be inspired and motivated by the power of exercise therapy to drive brain change.

Beyond life in the clinic, Leanne enjoys ballet, cross country skiing, cycling, hiking, walks along the oceanside, and honing her musical skills on the guitar and button accordion.
