The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is part of the team who provides assessment and treatment of voice, communication, and swallowing. Individuals and families may seek SLP support in the following areas:

- Speech clarity

- Vocal (re)training and vocal hygiene

- Speech fluency

- Understanding spoken or written words and sentences

- Following directions and routines

- Word retrieval/recall

- Writing words, sentences

- Problem solving and memory skills

- Ability to participate in conversations

- Social skills and relationship-building

- Ability to swallow safely and effectively

The SLP works with family members to establish shared goals and to discuss supports that will enhance speech, language, communication or swallowing skills at home and in the community.
